The movie walks a delicate tonal tightrope, blending genuine teen drama with pitch-black comedy and practical horror effects. But do keep in mind that the gore and dark humor might feel a bit jarring if you are hoping for a lightweight, traditional teen rom-com.

The courtroom showdowns benefit from lively pacing and theatrical speeches, keeping the energy high from start to finish. However, the legal nuances are simplified for dramatic effect, so do not look to this film for an accurate portrayal of actual contract law.
