You get plenty of moody tension as the main character struggles against his failing cognition while staying one step ahead of the law. Yet the narrative occasionally bogs down in police procedural details that slow down the momentum.

Buddy dynamics drive this energetic feature, pairing an unlikely duo who must survive a global conspiracy together. Expect a steady stream of wisecracks delivered between explosive set pieces that keep the energy high from start to finish.
It works best if you want a popcorn movie that does not take itself too seriously. But the comedic timing can feel uneven when the script tries to balance slapstick humor with genuine peril.

Destination weddings are stressful enough, but getting taken hostage by pirates pushes the concept to an entirely new level of chaos. Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel star as a couple whose big day gets hijacked, forcing them to work through their cold feet while dodging bullets.
The blend of romance and slapstick violence creates a surprisingly breezy viewing experience. However, the supporting cast gets sidelined a bit too often in favor of the central couple.

The tone leans heavily into absurd satire rather than traditional gun-fights, making it a unique entry on this list. But the loose pacing might test your patience if you prefer tightly wound plots.

On a Wing and a Prayer Dennis Quaid
Dennis Quaid faces the ultimate test when the pilot of his small private aircraft suffers a fatal heart attack mid-flight. With zero flying experience, he has to rely on air traffic controllers and his own faith to land the plane safely with his family on board.
The true story angle adds genuine weight to every bumpy minute in the cockpit. Still, the dramatic padding outside the plane feels a bit formulaic and rushed.
