Key Takeaways
- Prioritize MPAA ratings like PG-13 to ensure the scary moments or language match maturity levels.
- Check the release decade because older comedies often feature pacing or humor that lands differently today.
- Look at the genre mix so movie night includes a healthy balance of laughs, action, and mild scares.
- Verify runtime lengths to keep everyone engaged without stretching late into the night.
- Consider ensemble casts because familiar faces often make classic titles much easier to pitch to skeptics.

More Details on Our Top Picks
-
Teen Beach Movie Piano Songbook
Musical theater kids and aspiring musicians will love bringing the catchy Disney soundtrack straight to their living room. This complete songbook features nine distinct arrangements for piano, voice, and guitar, making it wonderfully versatile for different skill levels. You even get eight pages of glossy color photos from the film to flip through while practicing.
The main drawback is that you need a foundational understanding of sheet music reading to get the most out of these arrangements. Beginners might find the chord transitions a bit challenging without a teacher guiding them through the trickier measures.

The selections bridge the gap between classic stage numbers and modern movie musicals nicely.
On the downside, the sheer physical weight of this massive music book makes it tough to prop up on a standard wire music stand without a struggle. You will likely need a solid desk or a heavy-duty stand to keep the pages open while you practice.
